Flow Skate Wheels #2 – Pure Grip, Zero Waste

The world’s first roller ski wheel made entirely from recycled Norwegian waste. Engineered with a one-piece “unbreakable” structure, these wheels offer standard #2 resistance, eliminating the risk of rubber delamination while delivering elite-level grip on wet and dry asphalt.

Why I Abandoned Traditional Rubber

I’ve always been obsessed with safety and precision. But for years, I watched a dangerous flaw in our sport: delamination. Traditional roller ski wheels are two pieces—a rim glued to a rubber tire. Under high heat or heavy braking, that glue fails. The rubber peels off. The skier crashes. I refused to accept that risk.

We solved it by rethinking the entire manufacturing process. We didn’t just want a “greener” wheel; we wanted a safer one. We engineered a one-piece construction where the rim and the rolling surface are a single, solid unit of high-performance polymer. It is physically impossible for this wheel to separate. We combined this with standard #2 resistance to perfectly mimic the drag of fresh snow.

The Tech: Circular Economy Meets Performance

We make these wheels right here in Norway using 100% recycled materials. But don’t mistake “recycled” for “compromise.” This engineered polymer holds its shape better than rubber under heavy loads.

  • One-Piece Safety: No glue. No seams. Zero risk of the tire stripping off the rim during a descent.
  • Predictable #2 Resistance: We calibrated the rolling resistance to match standard winter training conditions. It’s not too fast, not too slow—it’s honest work.
  • Load Stability: Unlike rubber which can flatten and drag under heavier skiers, our Flow material maintains its geometry for a consistent roll.
  • Universal Standard: I designed these to the industry-standard 100x24mm dimension. They are a direct performance upgrade for FF, IDT, Swix, Swenor, and Fischer frames.

FAQ: Flow Skate & Compatibility

What does "#2 Resistance" mean?

This indicates a standard rolling speed. It is the most common resistance used for training, designed to simulate the glide and effort required on normal, groomed snow.

Will these fit my non-FF skis?

Yes. We use the universal 100x24mm standard. If you are riding skate skis from IDT, Swix, Swenor, or Fischer, these wheels are a direct drop-in upgrade. Note: You may need to swap your existing spacers depending on your axle width.

How is the grip on wet asphalt?

Surprisingly aggressive. We engineered the polymer compound specifically to displace water and maintain friction. You get predictable feedback even when the weather turns.

Why is a one-piece design safer?

Traditional wheels rely on glue to hold the rubber to the metal rim. Heat from braking destroys glue. Our Flow wheels are a solid, singular material structure. There is nothing to separate.

How do I recycle them?

This is a circular product. When you have worn them out, send them back to us at FF Skis. We recycle the material into new products, and you get a discount on your next set.

Are bearings included?

Check the product selection. We typically offer these as standalone wheels or complete kits with high-quality sealed bearings pre-installed.
