The feeling of a real ski on your feet
The FF 360Flow Skate Long exists for one reason: to give you the feeling of having a real ski on your feet. At 772 mm from axle to axle, it is 135 mm longer than the FF 360Flow Skate. That length means you are standing on a ski, not a short skate, which makes the switch between rollerskis and snow feel more natural.
Everything else is shared with the FF 360Flow Skate: patented damping (360FLOW®), a patent-pending brake, bindings and fenders. The difference is the frame. The Skate Long is longer, and the wheels sit further apart.
Skate Long vs. 360Flow Skate
- FF 360Flow Skate Long: Flow Frame 660. 772 mm from axle to axle.
- FF 360Flow Skate: Flow Frame 525. 637 mm from axle to axle.
The Skate Long is 135 mm longer. We always measure from the centre of the front axle to the centre of the rear axle. Damping and wheel size are the same.
What the longer wheelbase gives you
More of a ski feel. This is the main reason the Skate Long exists. The long frame feels like a ski underfoot, making it easier to carry your technique from snow to asphalt and back again.
Calmer at speed. With more distance between the wheels, the ski holds its line better and stays settled as speed builds, for example on descents.
Less rocking on rough asphalt. When a wheel hits a crack, a long ski tips less than a short one, while the damping absorbs the hard knocks.
A little less nimble in tight turns. That is the trade-off for the length. If you mostly ski tight, twisty loops, a shorter ski will suit you better.
Who is the Skate Long for?
The Skate Long is a great fit if you:
- want to feel like you have a real ski on your feet
- want a rollerski that feels closer to skiing on snow
- ski a lot at speed and want a calm, settled ski
- often train on rough or cracked asphalt
Prefer a shorter, quicker ski for twisty loops? The FF 360Flow Skate is probably the better choice.
Damping that gives you calm and response
Asphalt is hard. On ordinary rollerskis, much of your effort is lost to vibration. That is why FF damps at the axle, not in the wheel: a damping element surrounds the axle, between the wheel and the frame. The damping is patented, and 360FLOW® is a registered trademark.
- Calm. The ski soaks up the unevenness of the asphalt.
- Response. When you push off, you feel the ski answer.
- No bounce. The wheel stays firm, so the ski settles where you put it.
- You still feel the ground. Only the harsh vibration is removed.
- Your technique stays intact. You do not have to compensate for shaking, so you can ski with correct technique.
- Less strain. Your body is spared the hard knocks, so you can train longer and more often.
The wheel bolt threads into the axle and the outer face is flush, so nothing sticks out to catch the other ski on a descent.
Pole-activated brake included
The Skate Long comes with our patent-pending brake. To brake, simply press your pole tip lightly against it. No buttons and no extra movements, so you keep your rhythm, even on descents.
The FIS Cross-Country Sub-Committee has reviewed FF’s new damping and braking system. It recommends the skis and sees advantages in terms of safety.

FAQ
Why a long skate rollerski?
To give you the feeling of having a real ski on your feet. The long frame feels closer to a ski on snow, and as a bonus, it is calmer at speed.
Skate Long or 360Flow Skate: which one is right for me?
Choose the Skate Long if you want the most ski-like feel and a calm ski at speed. Choose the FF 360Flow Skate if you want a shorter, quicker ski for twisty loops. Not sure? Call us on +47 95 88 70 70 and we will help you choose.
How much longer is the Skate Long?
The Skate Long measures 772 mm and the FF 360Flow Skate 637 mm, from the centre of the front axle to the centre of the rear axle. The Skate Long is 135 mm longer.
Does the Skate Long have the same damping as the 360Flow Skate?
Yes. Both have patented damping (360FLOW®). The difference is the frame and the length.
